This beauty made our heart skip a beat (or two): First, when we saw its vibrant colour palette, and then when we felt its smooth, silky hand. This incredibly soft, lightweight 100% modal challis was produced in India from sustainably harvested beechwood. And its rich, saturated hue was achieved using non-toxic, azo-free dyes. Naturally breathable with a fluid drape, this tightly woven, non-stretch fabric is also more robust than traditional rayon. Modal is a delight to wear and easy to care for (resistant to shrinkage, pilling and wrinkle). We envision stunning flowy dresses, blouses, skirts, relaxed pants, delicate robes and pajamas. Semi-transparent, a lining is not necessary unless full opacity is required.
*We ran a test wash of all our samples to provide you with the most accurate fabric description. We're happy to report that we experience minimal shrinkage and no pilling. However, saturated colours tend to bleed a bit on the first wash. So we recommend washing these fabrics separately and only using regular cold water.
