Billie Skirt Pattern

This skirt is a modern take on a 1930's silhouette, drafted for modern plus-size bodies. The skirt shape is very straight above the knee, and flared at the knee into a trumpet shape. This skirt is sized for modern waistlines. If you want to make the skirt for historical styling or wearing over a 1930's girdle, grade down the waist only at the front and back princess seams more than instructed. Lining this skirt is optional. The pattern has been created with plus size bodies prioritized during the design process, and has sought to solve the fitting concerns that are often ignored in "standard size" patterns. As always, this pattern is a starting point and not guaranteed to fit perfectly; a mock-up is an essential part of the process of creating a successful new garment.

The pattern is available in A0 format to print on a plotter or at a copy shop at 36" (92 cm) wide, or in A4 format to print out at home.

This e-pattern also includes step-by-step instructions for sewing assembly, illustrated diagrams for each step, cutting layout diagrams, fabric suggestions and yardage minimums.

This pattern is intended for beginner-level sewists.
