From BF Patterns:
The Nicole Knit Top & Dress is a sleek and sophisticated wardrobe workhorse with a nostalgic 90s twist. Nicole can be sewn into a top or dress, with the option to make it sleeveless or long-sleeved. It features a clean neckline finish and a built-in bra that offers light support.
The Nicole Top (views A & B) is fitted through the chest and waist, with two length options: the shorter hemline hits just below the natural waist and pairs well with mid-rise pants and skirts, while the longer length sits high on the hips for more coverage at the waist. The Nicole Dress (views C & D) is semi-fitted in the waist and hips and has two different hem lengths for ultimate customization. The longer dress has a back slit to allow for ample movement.
With so many possible combinations, Nicole will be your new wardrobe TNT!
Recommended Fabrics: The Nicole Knit Top & Dress works well in a variety of light to medium-weight knit fabrics.
Knits that have 50-70% crosswise stretch and 40-70% lengthwise stretch will work best for this pattern. Look for spandex blended knits wth ample 4-way stretch and good recovery for best results.
We love Nicole in cotton and cellulose blend jerseys for a sophisticated everyday look, or try a printed mesh or viscose knit for an edgier feel. Rib knits can also work beautifully for Nicole, but because they tend to have more significant crossgrain stretch and less recovery than most jersey knits, sizing down may be required. If your preferred fabric does not fall into the recommended stretch percentage range, size up or down as needed.
