This is a downloadable PDF embroidery pattern for the December 2016 Water Protector design of the Give A Stitch embroidery project. Each month between now and December 2017, A Canny Lass will be releasing an embroidery pattern with all profits of the sale going towards a progressive cause.

This month all proceeds from the sale of this embroidery pattern will be donated to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Fund. Even though we received the wonderful news on December 4th that the easement necessary for continued construction was not granted, there is still a lot of work to be done and costs to be incurred by those fighting for a favorable permanent outcome. The money raised will help cover medical and legal bills incurred during the protest, as well as the inevitable future legal fees to be incurred in the coming months.

The downloadable PDF is 12 pages long and includes a materials list, directions for transfering the pattern to your fabric, how to do a basic embroidery stitch to complete the pattern, tips on finishing your embroidery piece for display, and two versions of the embroidery design itself facing two different directions.

The digital PDF will be available to download on the purchases page of your Etsy account shortly after you complete your purchase. You will not be receiving a physical product and will need access to a printer in order to print out the pattern and transfer it to your fabric. A PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat is required to open the pattern.

This pattern is sized for a minimum 6" hoop and is perfect for beginner embroiderers, but an experienced stitcher could have a lot of fun going wild with it too!

This pattern is for non-commercial use only, but you may sell items made using it if the money is going to the same cause, or if you would like to host an embroidery circle to raise funds. Please contact me if this is the case so I can potentially help spread word about it.

Once you have completed your embroidery piece I would love to see it! You can use the hashtag #GiveAStitch when posting photos of your embroidery on social media.

Be sure to check back each month for a new embroidery pattern to benefit a different cause!
