From Jacqueline Cieslak:

Empowering makers to create clothes that honour their bodies is at the core of Jacqui’s designing practice, and this shines through in her debut book. Embody consists of three infinitely adaptable patterns — two knitting, one sewing — with bespoke instructions to create customised, perfectly fitted garments designed to be the foundation of any maker’s me-made wardrobe. With included variations resulting in as many as 25 unique pieces from the three cornerstone patterns, this book encourages makers to think of a pattern as the starting point for their own creativity — a skill that will change how they approach any given pattern.

Embody offers a perspective on making which centres versatility, minimalism, and sustainability, both in making and wearing handmade clothes. Along with patterns and styling tips, Jacqui shares insights from her years of teaching capsule wardrobe workshops that will be invaluable to makers at any stage of building their own handmade wardrobe. Celebrate your body and the art of making with Embody as your guide.

Woolfork is a wardrobe staple designed for adaptability is sewing and wearing. The design features and set-in sleeve and bust darts for a clean fit at the chest and shoulders with a flared A-line body from the underarm to the hem for ease of movement while wearing. The pattern includes fully illustrated instructions and 3 sleeve and body options that can be worked in any combination. French seams throughout the pattern make for a clean, durable finish that can be achieved on any sewing machine.

Recommended Fabrics: Woolfork is designed for a light- to medium-weight woven fabric with some drape. It works well in 100% linen, linen blends, tencel, cupro, non-stretch cotton jersey, and cotton gauzes.
