Applique quilt block with light green harps and a scalloped border on a white background

Part of the Hawaiian Harps collection, this is an original appliqué block inspired by a simple frame harp and traditional Hawaiian quilting patterns. Frame harps feature a front pillar connecting the neck and soundbox, creating a roughly triangular shape around the strings. The central harps are framed by a border of scallops. For a simpler, smaller block, work only the center harp design without the outer border and quilt in echo lines. Adjust fabric sizes accordingly.

The pattern includes full-size eighth-fold templates for 14" and 18" blocks. Print actual size and cut on a folded square of fabric. Cutting and assembly instructions are included, but finishing instructions are not. The finished block may be used as part of a quilt, pillow, wall hanging, or any other project.

Supplies:
Design Fabric: 1 fat quarter (18" square)
Background Fabric: 1 yd (20"x 20" square)
Backing Fabric: 1 yd (20"x 20" square)
Batting: 21"x 21" (approx)

Notions:
Quilting and appliqué needles; thread for quilting and appliqué; basting thread or pins; sharp scissors; thimble; pencil or erasable fabric marker; quilting hoop.

Note on fabrics: Solid, marbled, or batik work best. Busy patterns may obscure the design. 100% cotton is recommended.
